Willie Glen Clay married Georgia Ann Hill and together had eight children. He was a chartered and Gold Card member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Newnan Lodge No. 299. He also was a member of the Royal Arch. He passed on April 20, 1991. His motto:

"If you don't have a job, make you one."
